It Takes a Village
Make yourself at home — seriously. We just ask for a little teamwork on the way out. Our cleaner works on a tight cycle between guests, and when we all pitch in a little, this place stays great for everyone.
Before You Head Out
- • Strip the beds and, if you can, start a load in the washer.
- • Spare sheets are in the bottom dresser drawer.
- • Check the washer and dryer — please don't leave anything sitting wet. Move it along so the cleaner isn't waiting on a dryer.
- • Rinse dishes and leave the kitchen tidy.
- • Turn off lights and lock up.
House Notes
- • No pets on the furniture, please — as much as humanly possible.
- • No smoking inside.
- • Be kind to the neighbors, especially after dark.

- • Grant-Kohrs Ranch — free national historic site, working cattle ranch.
- • Montana Auto Museum — 150+ classic cars, same complex as the prison.
- • Main Street — a few blocks of small-town Montana, easy stroll.
Day Trips From the Door
- • Yellowstone (West Entrance) — about 90 minutes. Leave early.
- • Georgetown Lake & Discovery Ski — 45 min. Fishing in summer, snow in winter.
- • Lewis & Clark Caverns — 1 hr 15 min. Guided cave tours.
- • Butte & Anaconda — 40 min. Mining history and great old architecture.
- • Missoula — 1 hr 15 min. Breweries, bookstores, river town.
- • Hot springs — Fairmont is 35 min, Boulder about an hour.
Where to Eat
- • Grab a pasty — it's a Montana mining-country tradition.
- • Get a huckleberry shake at least once. Non-negotiable.
- • Local cafés on Main Street do a solid breakfast; ask us for the current favorite.
- • Groceries and gas are close by, right off the interstate exit.
